Our test log
Our hands-on tests of generative engine optimization (GEO) tools, with the date, what we did, what we found and the limits of each test.
Published Updated
This log lists the hands-on tests of GEO tools that we have a written record of, newest first. Each is hands-on use, not formally scored by our method, so none gives a score or a ranking.
- When
- September 2026, for 1 month
- What we used
- Discoverable's Light, Growth and Scale plans, on 4 of our own websites
- Who used it
- Jonathan Greenfield, editor
- Tasks we tried
Creating pages for our sites, so that AI answers would cite them. Its tracking showed all of them cited, and we checked the results ourselves.
Getting listed on outside sites that AI answers often cite. It put them in order of impact and effort, with easy or cheap listings on widely cited sites first.
- Results
- Discoverable's own AI visibility score more than doubled for 2 of the 4 sites in the month: from 12% to 25%, and from 23% to 58%.
- What we found
- We found its weekly list of 10 tasks useful, and the tool easy to use and understand. Its tracking shows which sources each AI answer cited, for each question, so we could check the results.
- Limits
- 1 month on 4 sites, and we did not test its Agency and enterprise plan. The score is Discoverable's own measure, not ours, and AI answers vary from day to day. We did not compare the results with our own record of AI answers, and we have no screenshots or exports on file.
